Reverse AGE

AGE stands for Advanced Glycation Endproducts.

They are responsible for about 1/3 of intracellular damage related to aging.

AGEs form when sugars react with our body's proteins, fatty acids, and nucleic acids (RNA and DNA).

AGE formation is one of the primary ways that degenerative changes and negative effects associated with aging occur in the body.

By preventing AGE formation, we allow our body to repair and rejuvenate as it is constantly replacing itself on a molecular level...

Reverse AGE can be taken 1 to 3 capsules daily with food.

Reverse AGE is formulated in organic vegicaps free of phthalates, and contains zero additives, excipients, binders and fillers.

One Pullulan vegicap of Reverse AGE supplies:

Accessory Nutrients/Fatty Acids:

Stabilized Bioenhanced R-Lipoate 30 mg: R-Lipoate is thought to improve the body's ability to utilize insulin, the hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. Studies suggest that it may achieve this by enhancing the activation of key molecules involved in the insulin signaling pathway, such as IRS-1 protein and PI 3-kinase, leading to increased glucose uptake by muscle and fat cells. R-Lipoate has also been shown to promote the translocation of GLUT4, a glucose transporter protein, to cell membranes, further facilitating glucose entry into cells.

R-Lipoate is commonly used as a supplement to manage diabetic polyneuropathy, a complication of diabetes affecting the nerves, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov). Its antioxidant properties are thought to protect nerve cells from damage caused by high blood sugar levels. Some research indicates that ALA may improve nerve conduction and alleviate symptoms like pain, tingling, and numbness associated with diabetic neuropathy.

R-Lipoate may directly inhibit the formation of AGEs. It may protect cells from oxidative stress and inflammation triggered by AGE-RAGE interactions, according to the National Institutes of Health. This special form is up to 40 times more bioavailable than ordinary Lipoic Acid. Note that natural R-Lipoic Acid is also more effective than the synthetic form which contains 50% S-Lipoic Acid.

CML Absorption Inhibitors:

CML (Carboxymethyl-Lysine) is an advanced glycation end product (AGE), produced by oxidative modification of glycated proteins. CML increases with aging and during diabetes, cancer, vascular disease, and other pathologies.

Chitooligosaccharides (COS) 25 mg

Fulvic Acid 1 mg

Humic Acid 1 mg

Botanicals:

French Lilac 20:1 (Galega officinalis) 10 mg: Metformin is made from French Lilac but at a drug dosage level. It is widely used in anti-aging medicine but was recently found to contain a potent carcinogen that shouldn't be there. We use a gentle botanical dose equivalent to 200 mg of the pure herb.

Fo-Ti (Fallopia/Polygonum multiflora) 10 mg: Known in TCM as He Shou Wu, it supports the liver and kidneys. Some research suggests that Fo-Ti may play a role in reducing the formation of AGEs. Fo-Ti has been used for centuries in TCM for conditions associated with aging, like premature graying hair, weakness, and certain age-related ailments.

Triterpenoid saponin:

Gymnemic Acid 75% (Gymnema sylvestris) 10 mg: Gymnema is known as Gurmar meaning Sugar Destroyer in Ayurvedic Medicine.

  • Blocking Sweet Taste: Gymnemic acid has been shown to temporarily bind to the sweet taste receptors on the tongue, thus reducing the ability to taste sweetness. This can lead to decreased cravings and reduced intake of sugary foods.
  • Inhibiting Glucose Absorption: Research suggests that gymnemic acid can also block glucose receptors in the intestines, potentially inhibiting or delaying the absorption of glucose after meals. This leads to lower post-meal blood sugar levels.
  • Boosting Insulin Production: Studies indicate that Gymnema sylvestre extracts containing gymnemic acid may stimulate insulin production in the pancreas and promote the regeneration of insulin-producing beta cells. This can help improve insulin sensitivity and glucose utilization in the body.
  • Mechanism of AGE Formation: AGEs are harmful compounds formed when sugars react with proteins, lipids, or nucleic acids in a non-enzymatic process called glycation. This process is accelerated in the presence of high blood sugar levels and oxidative stress.
  • Gymnemic Acid's Indirect Impact: By effectively regulating blood sugar levels and potentially enhancing insulin action, gymnemic acid may contribute to a reduction in the rate of AGE formation.

Polyphenols:

Blood sugar regulation mechanisms of action:

  • Inhibition of Carbohydrate Digestion and Glucose Absorption: Polyphenols can interfere with enzymes like alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase, which are responsible for breaking down carbohydrates into glucose. This slows down the release and absorption of glucose into the bloodstream, thereby lowering post-meal blood sugar spikes.
  • Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Polyphenols can enhance the body's ability to respond to insulin, which is crucial for glucose uptake and utilization by cells, according to the Mississippi Valley State University. This involves activating key signaling pathways like AMP-Activated Protein Kinase (AMPK) and Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors (PPARs).
  • Protection of Pancreatic Beta Cells: Research suggests that polyphenols can protect pancreatic beta cells, responsible for insulin production, from damage and improve their function, helping maintain adequate insulin levels.
  • Modulation of Gut Microbiota: Polyphenols can influence the composition and activity of gut bacteria, promoting the growth of beneficial species associated with improved glucose metabolism and reduced inflammation, according to Technology Networks and.

Clinical Evidence:

While a substantial body of evidence from animal and in vitro studies supports the positive effects of polyphenols on blood sugar regulation, human clinical trials have shown some mixed results. More well-designed, controlled studies with clinically relevant endpoints are needed to solidify these findings and determine optimal dosages and formulations.

Age formation (Advanced Glycation End Products - AGEs) mechanisms of action:

  • Inhibition of AGE Formation: Polyphenols can directly inhibit the formation of AGEs, harmful compounds that accumulate in the body due to the non-enzymatic reaction between sugars and proteins. This inhibition can occur at various stages of the glycation process, including the early, propagation, and advanced phases.
  • Antioxidant Activity: Polyphenols are powerful antioxidants that scavenge free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, which plays a critical role in AGE formation and accumulation.
  • Metal Chelating Ability: Some polyphenols can chelate (bind to) transition metal ions, which can catalyze the formation of AGEs.
  • Modulation of RAGE: Polyphenols can interfere with the binding of AGEs to their receptor, RAGE (Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endproducts), thereby reducing the downstream effects of AGEs, such as inflammation and cellular damage.

Aging and AGEs:

AGEs contribute to various age-related diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, kidney disease, and neurodegenerative disorders. By inhibiting AGE formation and mitigating their harmful effects, polyphenols may play a role in promoting healthy aging and reducing the risk of these conditions.
